I can't believe I won!

I found out yesterday that Samhain Sweets had won first place (newbie category) in the Undersized Urbanite competition! I had a hectic (real world) day yesterday and just couldn't find time to post.

As promised earlier here are links to some of the tutorials I used:

The brickwork- Brae at Otterine's miniatures

The stones- Carol at Victoria Miniland

The concrete path- Joanne at Joanne's Minis (youtube video)

The cup cakes- SugarCharmShop (youtube video)

The kitchen Table- Leslie Shepard at About.com miniatures

The grater- Elizabeth at StudioE (the measuring spoons are from Elizabeth too but I can't seem to find the page right now)

Thank-you to Christina of Little Victorian for hosting the contest (I had so much fun participating) and to the judges Brae, Victoria and Anna.

Thank-you to Christine Valentine for everything you did!

Thank-you to all the miniaturists that share their ideas and experience and to all of you who have welcomed me into the doll house community.

I know it sounds like I'm accepting an Oscar but I really am grateful and don't want to forget anyone.

    1. Than-You Lindsey. I glued everything down before I took the pictures and can't figure out how to get clear pictures of the back corners, the shop is too crowed to get the camera in there, lol. I will learn how to use the camera properly one day.

    1. Congratulations to you too Lyssa. I always enjoy your builds. Seemed to me I had to share the links, I wouldn't have known how to start without others sharing. I hope I can give back by sharing what I learn along the way.

  7. Congratulations! You've done such a beautiful piece. I love all the colours and details. I went through the photos and just couldn't believe all the tiny elements hidden in the place. And the exterior is gorgeous too. I hope you keep posting about more projects on your blog and I look forward to following along.

  14. That's little shop is perfection in itself!!! Wow!! What a great job! You should thank Jane of Minifanaticus for spreading the word about you and I'm happy she did so that I could admire such a wonderful job!! Well done for winning too!

  15. I came across your blog after you were announced as the winner in the newbie category at the Undersized Urbanite. First off -- congrats! Your shop is absolutely adorable!! I smiled when I saw you used the brick tutorial from otterine's blog -- making the bricks out of egg cartons is definitely mind-numbing, but the effects are so worth it.

Again, congratulations on your win! I've started following your blog, so am looking forward to what you have planned next!
